Timeline of Prophecy

This is an initial attempt to line up the various prophetic sequences about the near future. Some of these parallels may not be immediately obvious. That is because each book is looking at the sequence from a different perspective. For instance, 1 and 2 Corinthians as well as 1 Timothy describe the lessons that need to be learned at each stage rather than focusing upon the events themselves. However, one still notices a similar cognitive progression.

The essay on Hebrews attempted to construct a parallel timeline but I think that many of the suggestions in that essay are inaccurate because Hebrews was one of the first books that I analyzed from a prophetic perspective. Analyzing Matthew 2-24 from a historical perspective was a major breakthrough because I realized that one could map between scriptural passages and historical events. The analysis of Acts 1-12 looked at prophecy at a much greater level of detail, making it possible to examine Matthew 25-28. This is a first attempt to realign Hebrews, Revelation, and 1 and 2 Corinthians with Acts and Matthew.

This timeline focuses upon the near future, going from the present until the end of the next major cycle. That is because the end of the next cycle has many similarities to current society, which is at the end of a major cycle, as illustrated by the reference to ‘post modern thought’. Most of the books mentioned here continue beyond the end of this timeline. Similarly, my current understanding is that Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians form a connected sequence that starts near the end of this timeline.

James, Matthew 2-24, Revelation 4-11, and Daniel 11 deal with the past. Lining up such sequences is easy because one simply has to look at history. I suspect that Luke also deals with Western history, but I am not sure.
